What is Legacy Giving?
Legacy giving (also known as planned giving) is an opportunity to leave money or assets to WYXR in your estate plans. There are several pathways to legacy giving, many of which are easy to establish, and some can even benefit you financially in your lifetime.
Making a legacy gift to WYXR, a 501 (c) (3) organization, is a simple way to ensure a thriving future for WYXR and public radio.

Not only will you be keeping WYXR strong for the next generation and beyond, there are also great benefits to this type of giving:

- Receiving income for yourself and/or your loved ones
- Passing assets to family at a reduced tax cost
Planned giving looks different for everyone, but here are a few common options:
- You can name WYXR in your will or trust with wording such as: “I hereby give to WYXR, a-not-for-profit organization with offices at 1350 Concourse Avenue Suite 160, Memphis, TN 38104, the sum of $_________; or ______% of the residue of my estate.” (Be sure to include WYXR’s tax ID: #84-3681384)
- You can name WYXR as an IRA or retirement plan beneficiary, or as a life insurance beneficiary.
- You can set up a charitable gift annuity — transfer assets that will be used in part by WYXR in the future, and in the meantime, you will receive income payments.
- Create a financial account for WYXR.
